All quilts are not created equal...

Creating a quilt of the highest quality that will become an heirloom is my goal.

The foundation of the finest quilts begins with the equipment, fabrics, threads and fillings that will form the final product.

The Machine

My sewing machine is a Pfaff - one the the leading names in quilting circles.

I love the quarter inch foot that allows me to have accurate seam allowances.

The Fabric

I only use 100% cotton fabric and thread. In fact, all three layers of every quilt I make are cotton, cotton, cotton... and this costs money, money, money :-).

The Batting

The batting is called "Warm and Natural". It is a cotton batting, not polyester.

The 100% cotton fibers are punched with hundreds of needles through a strong, thin base material to prevent tearing, shifting, or migration. The evenly layered fibers stay in place inside the quilt, even after a lifetime of gentle washings.

The batting will not separate or bunch.
It contains no glue or resins
It will not beard
It keeps its shape wash after wash

Cutting & Stitching

I cut each square of your quilt individually and re-sew them back together again. I do this so that I can backstitch each intersection to insure the integrity of every seam.

Like many artists, once I found something that I connected with, I decided to prefect it.

I learned the power of the backstitch - and this became one of the signatures of my quilting.

I backstitch all the stitching on my quilts - an usual attention to detail amongst quilters.

Poems

You can have a special message made part of your quilt.

My baby and pet quilts often come with a special poem inscribed.

The script is written with a Pigma Micron marker.

The ink is a micro pigment ink for waterproof and fade proof fine lines.
