The Rooster Quilt

Color & Fabric	This quilt has hand dyed fabrics that were especially created for this quilt to represent feathers. As I was creating the quilt I had pictures of the breed of the birds and what they looked like in a real form, my goal was to make them look as natural as possible. Each bird has their breed name stitched in with cream thread by a embroidery machine. The background is an assortment of cream and light brown fabrics that all have a chicken farm theme, from a wheat field to a fabric that looks like it is the side of a barn. There is an overlapping of Morning Glories and Honeysuckle that grows around the birds. The first border around the quilt are creams with a burgundy fabric that was alternated to create a checkerboard effect. The second border is all the creams that are throughout the quilt.
