My cousin, Naoh, who lives in Yokosuka, Japan has just received a new dog named Sohta. I was looking for a gift to bring with me to Japan for her new dog when I saw your quilt. I knew it would be a perfect gift for them. As soon as we arrived we placed the quilt on the floor. Sohta sat on it - he loved it right away. No matter where we moved the quilt in the room the dog would follow it. Japanese people like well crafted products so they really appreciated the work that went into making your quilt. It has been over two years since you made Alou his magnificent denim quilt. It has become his home base, his refuge. He collects his toys there, retreats to it when he has been reprimanded and basks in the warmth of the sun there. It still looks perfect. He knows to treat it well. To this day we marvel are your instinctive generosity and warmth. You have a talent we are in awe of and a kind and generous spirit that is truly hard to find. Do not change! We treasure it and all the love that came with it.You are wonderful.

Every morning I make a latte for myself, take my paper and go out on my patio to enjoy the morning. However, today is a bit chillier than most, but it is not a problem because I have a beautiful quilt to wrap around my legs to keep me warm.
This is the prettiest quilt we have, and for that reason it's the only one we have in our living room for everyone to see. I could never have imagined something of this magnitude, that I know took you so much time to create. This was a wonderful gift that we received from you. When it arrived, I was on my way out the door to one of our many Scouting adventures. I know Terri sent you a message of thanks, however, I wanted to send you mine as well. Thank you very much. My Granddaughter, Bayly and I love her beautiful quilt. It stays at our home until she grows up and has her own home. When she comes to visit Grandma and Grandpa, it has become very special. Bayly heads for her room to check things out and stands at the end of her bed and finds the gold star hidden in the pattern of her quilt. It is something that has become a ritual over the years. My two year old son cherishes his quilt like no other " blankie." He has had this beautiful hand made quilt for a year now and still loves to cuddle up with it at night. I had wanted to eventually display this work of Art by hanging it above his bed.~ but it wouldn't last there very long. It was meant to be enjoyed and embraced by his loving little arms. When I first found out that Carmel would be making quilts for people who love their animals, I knew I had to have one for my Mom's cat Mooch. Carmel's quilts are the most beautiful art pieces I have seen.
I know people who treasure their cats more than anything else they own. My Mom adores Mooch, and I knew she would love something special for him.It was Christmas 2004 and I couldn't be home for the holidays that year, so I made sure the gifts were in Ottawa in plenty of time. Several days before Christmas my Mother kept telling me that for some reason Mooch kept rubbing up against the parcel.She was sure there was cat nip inside that he was trying to get at.Christmas morning, my sisters tell me, when my mother saw the quilt for the first time she cried, placed it immediately on her lap and Mooch jumped right up, snuggled in, and they stayed that way all morning. It is by far the most favorite gift I ever gave my Mother. The quilt lays on the back of Mooch's favorite chair where he sleeps all day long. Thank you Carmel !!Tracy

Last March I was at the Cloverdale cat show and purchased a cat quilt. I wasn't sure if my cats Tyler and Jesse would sleep on it but I knew I had to have one. I think I bought it for myself but when I took it home and put it on the foot of my bed, both my kitties fell in love with it too. I have a second one on order so there won't be and more fighting over who gets to sleep on it. I not only bought a beautiful quilt that day, but it was the start of a wonderful friendship.
